NOSTALGIA

A Review of Ancient Egyptian Murals

In my childhood, I enjoyed any film that was about Ancient Egypt. This led me to write my master’s thesis on Egyptian murals and also two research books on this subject. Egyptian legends mesmerized me. Akhenaton, especially, had a certain attraction for me. I admired his point of view. He was the only pharaoh who demanded his portraits to be drawn in naturalistic forms, not bigger or smaller but with a realistic look. In the end, this pharaoh was poisoned by religious lead- ers of Amon, and left us the legacy of the only pharaoh who spoke differently. He built a
city whose citizens all wore white and were all equal.
I was inspired to create 27 modern works using gnostic or golden divisions.
